Shelby Oviatt

Dr. Shelby Oviatt grew up on her grandparents' farm in rural Utah, where she helped care for dogs, cats, rabbits, geese, chickens, pigs, sheep, and horses. Her love of animals began at an early age, first sparking her desire to pursue a career as a veterinarian.

Dr. Oviatt attended the University of Nevada, Reno, where she earned bachelor degrees in Veterinary Science and in Biology. During her undergraduate years, she worked as a Veterinary Assistant and volunteered actively with the UNR Veterinary Club.

Dr. Oviatt went on to study Veterinary Medicine through Washington State University's WIMU Regional Program, splitting her collegiate studies between Utah State University in Logan, Utah and Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. After four years of dedicated study, she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University.

Dr. Oviatt is excited to join the team at Marina Hills Animal Hospital and continue expanding her knowledge and skillset. Her professional interests include geriatric care, internal medicine, and rehabilitation medicine. She is looking forward to meeting all the many wonderful clients and pets that visit Marina Hills Animal Hospital.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Oviatt enjoys hiking, playing golf and tennis, reading, enjoying Southern California's beaches, and spending time with family. While she loves the sunshine, she also enjoys curling up on the couch with a good book or TV series. Dr. Oviatt helps care for several beloved family pets, including a Border Collie named Reef, a Norwegian Elkhound named Kona, and a Schnauzer mix named Karma.
